The short version

  • Crop Screenshot is a free, on-device utility app designed to capture, crop, blur, and remove backgrounds from screenshots on your phone.
  • The app works completely offline. We do not operate servers, we do not require accounts or logins, and we do not collect, view, or upload your screenshots, crops, or cutouts.
  • You retain 100% full ownership of every screenshot and edited image you produce. Screenshots are saved exclusively to your device storage in Pictures/CropScreenshots.
  • You are solely responsible for what you choose to capture and share. The app does not bypass Android system security protections such as FLAG_SECURE (e.g. banking or DRM screens).

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Crop Screenshot, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app and uninstall it from your device.

Description of the App

Crop Screenshot provides on-device tools to capture and refine screen selections, including:

  • Quick capture triggers via a floating bubble, Quick Settings tile, home screen widget, or notification action;
  • Smart freehand drawing and geometric crop presets (Free, 1:1 Square, 4:3, 16:9, Circle);
  • On-device background removal (Cutout) using Google ML Kit subject segmentation;
  • Privacy blur and redaction tools;
  • Exporting results to your local photo storage and launching Android's system share menu.

The app does not provide remote cloud hosting, automated online syncing, or multi-device accounts.

Your Content and Ownership

We believe in total privacy and user ownership:

  • You own your images: You retain full, exclusive copyright and ownership of all screenshots, crops, and cutouts created with the app. REVAMINE TECHNOLOGIES claims no intellectual property rights or ownership over your content.
  • Local storage only: Full screenshots remain temporarily in your phone's memory while the editor is open and are immediately discarded upon closing. Only your confirmed cropped images are saved directly to your phone's local storage in Pictures/CropScreenshots.

User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use

When using Crop Screenshot, you agree to the following:

  • Sensitive Data: Because screen capture records whatever is currently displayed on your screen, you are responsible for avoiding the capture or unintended sharing of sensitive private information, including passwords, payment details, or private messages.
  • Third-Party Copyrights: You agree to respect the copyright, trademark, and intellectual property rights of third parties. You must not use the app to capture or distribute protected media in violation of applicable laws or third-party licenses.
  • Security Protected Screens: Certain apps (including banking, financial, and digital rights-managed media apps) use Android's FLAG_SECURE setting to block screen recording. When attempting to capture these screens, Android outputs a black frame. Crop Screenshot respects these operating system protections and does not attempt to circumvent them.
  • Software Integrity: You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or distribute unauthorized clones of the application code or assets.

Third-Party Technologies and Services

  • Google ML Kit: The on-device Cutout feature relies on Google ML Kit subject segmentation provided through Google Play services. Use of ML Kit is subject to Google ML Kit Terms and Google's Privacy Policy. Google Play services may download the cutout model once to your phone over your network connection.
  • Third-Party Sharing: When you use the Share button, the image is passed to whichever application you select via Android's native share sheet. The terms and privacy policies of the receiving app apply once the image is transferred.

Permissions Used by the App

Permission Purpose under these Terms
Screen capture (MediaProjection) Used only when you explicitly tap to capture a screenshot.
Display over other apps Allows the floating capture button and editor overlay to appear over other apps.
Foreground service & Notifications Ensures the background capture session and floating bubble remain responsive without being terminated by Android.
Vibration Optional haptic feedback upon completing a crop selection.
Storage (Android 9 and older) Permits saving images to the Pictures directory on legacy Android versions.

The app does not request or use internet permission, camera permission, microphone permission, location, or contact access.

Disclaimer of Warranties

CROP SCREENSHOT IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. REVAMINE TECHNOLOGIES DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

While we make every effort to maintain stability and performance, we do not guarantee that the app will function without interruption on all hardware models, across all customized Android OEM skins (e.g., custom manufacturer battery-saving mechanisms), or that all screen configurations will produce identical results.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, REVAMINE TECHNOLOGIES AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF SCREENSHOTS, DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

Termination

You may terminate these terms at any time by simply uninstalling the application from your device and discontinuing its use.

Changes to these Terms

If we update these Terms of Service in the future, we will update the "Effective and last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the app after such changes constitutes your agreement to the modified terms.
